Crosfields current U11s team (U12s in September) now have enough players to become two teams - before this is can happen which would ideally be before the start of the new season we need a coach.

It would be great to get someone who has coaching experience at this level but if you have the enthusiasiam and commitment to take on these lads then the club can put you through the relevent course.

The Junior Rugby Section at Crosfields has never been stronger than it is now please help us to keep these lads playing the game.

This is Stu Ms post really, but I thought I'd help spread the news!

Not sure if you're aware of what an incredible season this has been for Rugby League in Warrington

Open Age - Bank Quay Bulls won BARLA Lancashire Cup and promotion to the league Premiership

U18's - Rylands Sharks won the BARLA Lancashire Cup

U16's - Latchford Albion Unicorns won the BARLA Lancashire Cup and, if the rules of the NWC 16-18's had been adhered to, would have been allowed a play-off for the runners-up spot in the U16 premiership

U14's - Latchford Albion Unicorns still in the semi final of the NWC Cup

U13's - Rylands Sharks won the NWC Premiership title and are in the Final of the NWC Cup

U12's - Woolston Rovers won the NWC Development Plate Final last Sunday

U12's - Burtonwood Bulldogs won the NWC Development Cup Final last Sunday

When have so many of the town's clubs won collectively so many honours including five cups, two league titles and still the chance of two more cups? Truly praiseworthy and promises much for the sport in years to come. Just look at the results of some of the Service Area and Academy teams, which bears that out.

It's not all about winning things but development of players will ultimately lead to such things. Well done to all those concerned from all clubs.

Continuing Warrington's success this year Woolston U12's have made it through to the final of the NWC development plate and Burtonwood to the final of the development cup.
I also believe that Rylands U13's are in the NWC final and Latchford are still in the NWC U14's cup
Well done Warrington

The start of the season has been delayed until Saturday 23rd October which is great news for the girls playing football as the fixtures now fall on alternate weeks.

Any girls in year 6 or 7 who want to play Rugby League for Warrington Wolves girls just turn up for training on Thursday night

Training runs from 8pm - 9pm

Do you know that there is a sports teams section of Friends Reunited where you can register as a former member of Latchford Albion.

You can register on www.friendsreunited.co.uk. You can "find friends from" and then choose from the drop down list "sports teams".

Find a team under "rugby club", "north west", "warrington" and then whatever team you have been a member of.

I've just checked and, at this time, there are 17 rugby clubs listed in the warrington area, including Newton Storm of St Helens!!

Members who have added their names to the respective local rugby league clubs are numbered as follows:

Bank Quay Bulls - 4
Burtonwood Bridge - 3
Crosfields - 15
Culcheth Eagles - 3
Laportes - 5
Latchford Albion - 4
Newton Storm - 1
Rylands - 6
Warrington Ladies - 1
Woolston Rovers - 25

Just to let you know

I'm now locked out of the Wolves Forum as you know! I'd dearly love to say a big thank you to all those who turned up to see The Challenge Cup. Latchford Albion's Youth Section benefitted by over £90 and the signed shirt and signed ball were won by two members of the Grange Club.
Thank you to Warrington Wolves' award winning community team for their support getting this off the ground and to this website for advertising the event.
Thank you also to Warrington Wolves stars Danny Lima and Mike Wainwright who turned out and enhanced many of the young kids' photos.
Last two to thank must be the Manor Locks who stepped in at the last moment to host the event and to the RFL's Steffan who brought along one of the prettiest trophies in sport.
Let's hope the next time it arrives in the town it stays for at least 12 months!!

More congratulations are due in the Warrington area: -
Firstly well done to Warrington Ladies' team who have now completed their first season and have won the Second Division. They played 12 games and won all but one of them, scoring nearly 600 points - great stuff. Well done to Jane Banks and her squad.
Girls' rugby is growing in the town and so it's also well done to Cardinal Newman High School who have now progressed through to the first-ever Powergen Girls' School Challenge Cup at Cardiff after Emily Rudge scored five tries. Emily was the first ever girl to be selected for the Warrington U11 Town Team last year. That has been followed up by Becky Cooper this year.
William Beamont's Year 10 side have made it through to Cardiff too to defend the trophy they won last year as Year 9's.
Finally, well done to Mike Cooper for being selected to represent English Schoolboys against Wales with Joe Gandy as reserve.
Good times ahead in Warrington with Rugby League!!

Well done to Neil Kelly and ALL the local amateur clubs in achieving the coveted Clubmark. It's a great achievement for all concerned to become the first town to boast all their clubs achieving such an honour. Quite rightly it has been recognised in the national rugby press and by BARLA even if it passed the local press by. Well done Neil
